Antenna Troubleshooting Question: Why does the LCD display show "Acquiring Signal"? Answer: When the audio signal is lost, a pop-up window with the message “Acquiring Signal” is displayed until the signal is recovered. Question: Why does the LCD Displays show "Antenna not Detected"? Answer: When no antenna is detected and the signal is lost, a pop-up window with the message “Antenna Not Detected” is displayed until an antenna is detected and the signal is acquired. Question: What can I do if the Reception is weak or the audio has static and is unclear? Answer: Check that the satellite antenna is connected and not faulty. Change the location of the Antenna making sure it is away from obstructions. Question: I have service, but my receiver keeps showing "acquiring signal". How can I fix that? Answer: For best reception, be sure the antenna is free from obstructions. Due to the paths of the Sirius satellites over the US, the best location for the antenna in your home depends on where you live. Redirect the antenna until you get a signal. You can also refer to your owner's manual for information for the best possible direction to face your antenna. Question: Do I have to leave the antenna and power plugged in at all times? Answer: You must leave the antenna and power plugged in to the boom boxes and home or car kits at all times. Question: Where do I place the antenna in my car? Answer: Position the antenna in a location that gives you best exposure to the sky. The antenna has strong magnetic mounting to hold the antenna in place to allow for easy installing in your vehicle. Question: I am trying to use the receiver in my car, but I am getting a lot of static. Answer: Be sure you are setting the FM Transmitter to a channel that is not use for broadcasting in your area. Question: How can I adjust the Antenna Aiming? Answer: Press the MENU button on the receiver. Press the UP or DOWN "CH" button to scroll to the Antenna Aiming selection and press SELECT button. Upon entering this option, two 10-segment horizontal bar graphs are displayed with a (-) sign to the left and (+) to the right. One is labeled "SAT" satellite signal strength) and the other "TER" (terrestrial signal strength". The current setting is indicated by the bar graphs. Position the Antenna to receive the best antenna strength. Question: Can I use the antenna in my home or car? Answer: The antenna that comes in the Universal Kit can be used in either home or car. Answer: Press the button that has a red circle with a vertical line through the top. You should hear a beep and the display will show the Sirius logo. Question: What service plans do you have available? Answer: You would need to contact Sirius directly for information on available service plans. Question: Where can I find the ESN number and what is it for? Answer: You can find the ESN number on the back of the receiver. The ESN number is necessary to activate your service. Have it ready when you contact Sirius for activation. You can also find the ESN by turning the receiver on and pressing the MENU button. Then select Sirius ID. The ESN number will be displayed. Question: How do I program the preset channels? Answer: When you are listening to a station, just press and hold a numbered button until the display shows "Preset Stored". There are 6 Bands of Preset Channels available. Question: How do I recall the preset channels? Answer: Press the BAND button once to advance to the desired band. Once selected press a numbered button and your preset channel will be displayed. Question: How do I use the S-Seek function? Answer: When a song is playing and you want to hear the song again the next time it plays, press and hold the MEMO/S-Seek button. This will instruct your satellite radio to search the current incoming Sirius signal and alert you when the song you have saved is being played or about to play. When you turn the receiver on, it automatically searches the Sirius signal and will notify you if a saved song is being played. Question: How do I activate or deactivate the Memory Search Function (S-seek)? Answer: To set the Auto Memory Search, press the MENU button hen the UP or DOWN "CH" button to scroll to the Memory Options selection and press SELECT button. You have to options; Auto Memory Search and Clear All. Selecting Clear All will remove all of the 18 memory locations. If you select Auto Memory Search, the options "ON" and "OFF" will show. Select "ON". You will be notified when a song you have placed in the S-seek function is about to play. Question: Can I use the seek function on an Artist or just a song? Answer: You can set the S-Seek function on a song title. Question: Can I see a list of stations I have preset? Answer: Yes, press and hold the BAND button while in Normal Operation mode. The screen will switch between the Normal Operation mode and the Preset Tuning mode. Press and hold the DISP button until the Preset Channel list pops up. Press the DISP button continuously until the preferred Preset Channel list is indicated. Each time you press the DISP button, the preset lists switches from "Channel Name" to "Artist/Composer" to "Song Title" cyclically. Note: XTR3 Visor does not have this option. Question: My unit plays for a little while then cuts off. What can I do? Answer: Double check all of your connections. If they are properly connected, then disconnect the power source for about five minutes then reconnect and turn unit back on. If this does not solve your issue, you should consider returning the unit for replacement. Question: Is the receiver a single input receiver? Answer: Your satellite radio is a single input receiver. You can only connect one antenna at a time. General FAQ's Question: I have no sound from my Satellite Receiver. Answer: Check the audio cables and make sure they are plugged in correctly. Check the FM Transmitter Setting and make sure that your FM radio is set to the correct channel. Question: My unit gets really hot. Is that normal? Answer: It is normal for your receiver to become very warm. Reducing the brightness and contrast will lower operating tempratures. Question: How can I activate my service? Question: I bought the XTR1UK and I have this small stand in the box. What should I use that for? Answer: The XTR1UK is designed to be used in a vehicle or indoor/outdoor location. The small stand is for home mounting of the antenna. Question: Do you have any products that are wireless? Answer: We have XS028 available that have rechargeable batteries. The XS028 has a built in antenna and a rechargeable battery that has a listening time of approximately 3 hours. Question: There is no sound from my external speakers or stereo system. Answer: Make sure the FM radio is set to the same FM transmitter setting as the receiver. |
